Southern California is where it all began! A small group of leading floral designers envisioned a professional organization whose purpose would be to showcase excellence in floral design, recognize accomplished designers, and educate and inform the public on floral design as a professional career. Today, The American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD) is the industry’s leading non-profit organization committed to establishing and maintaining higher standards in professional floral design.  AIFD and its worldwide accredited members are at the forefront of the floral design industry in presenting educational design programs and in designing flowers for such renowned events as the Tournament of Roses Parade, Academy Awards and Presidential Inaugurations. They are an extraordinary group of talented artists.

Accredited membership in AIFD is extremely selective and can be obtained only after a candidate has effectively demonstrated advanced professional ability of his or her floral artistry. Members proudly add the AIFD addendum on their name to show their peers and the public at large that AIFD has found them to be “Accredited in Floral Design.” They must continue to demonstrate their cutting edge art by meeting specified continuing education requirements. To learn more about becoming an AIFD certified member, please visit our parent organization website here.

AIFD is comprised of 6 regional chapters that sponsor local educational programs for the floral industry as well as for the floral consumer market. From workshops with world renowned designers to visiting local flower farms, each chapter is unique in what they do! AIFD also supports student chapters located on the campuses of major colleges and universities across the nation.

Our Southwest Region includes Arizona, Southern California (below Santa Cruz), Hawaii, Guam, Southern Nevada (below Reno) and Utah.
